Plant Pathology

INTRODUCTION

The Plant Pathology Section was establishment at College of Agriculture, Dhule during 1960 with 3 distinct objectives of education, research and extension. In addition teaching the staffs is also conducting some research experiments and to carry out extension work in the field of Plant Pathology and Agricultural Microbiology. This section is playing role in all three basic activities i.e. Education, Research and Extension activities.

2. Research

This section is recording the observations on wheat rust every year in wheat rust trap nursery.

3. Extension

The staff of this section providing training and information regarding identification and management of diseases of various crop plants to the staff of Agricultural Department and the farmers. This section also analyses farmer’s plant disease samples and suggesting the suitable control measures.

Achievements

1. This section has well established separate laboratories for under graduate s and post graduate students.
2. The section has also designed and prepared the display board for the teaching to the students and also for the extension purpose.
3. The section has laminated photographs of various plant diseases, Dry and wet preserved disease specimens.
4. The quality manuals for all UG courses were prepared.
5. Section laboratories have LCD projector facility.

RESEARCH

Research undertaken by the PG students:
Research work allotted to the PG students were conducted at laboratory as well as field level. Till date 24 students had completed their research work on different aspects.
